Great attempt, love the idea Marcel but can't get over the incredibly enthusiastic American accents. I'm all up for podcast listening, I love the conversational format but I'd prefer to hear from you and the authors as an interview.

Sorry, I hate this fake chat with its banter and umms. AI is so gross. I would happily hear from you no matter your accent.

Who knows, maybe one day ;-)

i'm writing this comment because you need feedback. i understand why people are trying new things, look at me: trying a new film, trying an old camera; look at matteo creating images using ai, just for fun. if you don't try, you'll never know and life will be boring if you don't try. i understand why people are listening to podcasts: it saves time, can be done while doing something else (walking, commuting), it is trendy and so on. so i understand why you did it but i stick to what i said on notes: i preffer to read.

I agree with perfectlight - it is great to try new things. Kudos to you for doing this. AI is the future and maybe something good can be created with it. Like perfectlight, I am not a listener, but prefer to read (or watch).

I totally understand your hesitation to record the podcast yourself (being German, I hate how I sound speaking English). But these two are a bit too "cool" as Kees described it already. And as Neil said, I would rather hear your voice, because it would feel much more personal to hear it from you.

I hope this is helpful feedback and you are not too bummed, but it isn't really my thing.

Thanks Susanne, I'm not bummed at all. It's just that I was looking for some way to recap all the interviews and this opportunity came along. Besides the too enthusiastic voices, I was impressed by the quality of this recap. And yes, It would be more personal to record one myself, but I'm not confident enough (yet).

I totally understand, believe me.

This is certainly an interesting experiment. First impressions are marred by the exaggerated ‘amazing - how do they do that - yes totally’, a shortcoming that could perhaps be fixed with targeted recovery-prompts. Perhaps with instructions like ‘academic style’ or ‘more british’. Apart from that: interesting feedback on the interviews. How is your present photography influenced by your experience in filmphotography in the past?

Yes, that's a thing currently not available, but a bit of tweaking would be great indeed. Still great experiment and outcome though.

Hearing the comments about me actually made me laugh. Quite funny to see which points were used to stand out. But as the others are also mentioning I did not like the American accents at all! It is slightly worrying that AI can turn these interviews into a podcast like this. Yikes!

I think a podcast is a fine idea. I'm on a road trip and listened to this project. I don't like the. Constant interjections by the speakers ("Wow!" "Interesting!") and I think reducing the total number of photographers you discuss by 50% would help, but those things can be sorted out over time. I also think a complementary written content linking to the photographers sites etc would help. But i like this. The voices are a matter of taste. But if self-recording your content is not your thing, I think this use of AI works fine. Remember, there are many learning types. Asking opinions about this on Substack with its high degree of writers and readers may not give you a fair taste of what a larger audience might appreciate. I lean on audio books, music and podcasts for my photo road trips. I'd listen to yours for sure.

Wonderful, Marcel! Looking forward to listening to it... as soon as I'm done grading midterm exams.

Do you have an actual link to the podcast? Is it in Apple Podcasts yet?

Hi Michael, nope. It is only available via this Substack post.
