A Podcast for Darkrooms
Trying something new with the interview series 'The Dark Rooms Of...'
Last week I promised to tell about the exhibition and my choice of material for these photo works. I’ve had some issues with the delivery of the works and therefor need to reschedule that post to next week (hopefully), but…
I've got something exciting for you this week—introducing the very first Darkrooms podcast!
Now, before you panic, it won’t be me battling through English with my Dutch accent. Instead, I’ve lined up two seasoned hosts to take the reins.
In this quick and engaging 14-minute episode, they’ll dive into a topic close to my heart: the interview series I’ve been running called The Dark Rooms Of…. I kicked this series off back in 2022, but since Darkrooms was still building its audience, many of you might have missed out. And trust me, these interviews are packed with insights that are still just as valuable today.
This podcast explores the creative processes of different photographers, offering nuggets of wisdom that can inspire and inform us all. The hosts have done their homework—they’ve read every interview, checked out the photographers' websites, scrolled through their socials, and even dug up extra interviews to give you the full picture. They’ll be sharing what they’ve learned and discussing key takeaways that could spark some fresh ideas for your own work.
So, get ready to tune in and learn something new!
By the way, if you want to read the interviews you can find them in the menu on top or click on Interviews.

Next week
Next Tuesday I will hope to show you the exhibition I had end of September. Still waiting for some prints I sold to arrive Hope the ordered prints will arrive like how they were supposed to look like, so I can show you why I choose that specific printing method.
One more thing
Before I forget to mention… this podcast wasn’t technically created by me—well, in a way, it was, since I provided the interviews from Darkrooms as the source material. But the actual podcast itself was put together by AI, using that content. It was just a fun experiment to see how it would turn out. I have to say, I was really impressed with the result, and I think it’s turned into a fascinating podcast to listen to. What do you think?
That’s it for this newsletter.
Till next time,
DARKROOMS is a reader-supported, weekly photography newsletter. If you enjoy this newsletter, the best way to help it grow and support me is by becoming a free subscriber to receive new posts (or upgrade to support my work)

Great attempt, love the idea Marcel but can't get over the incredibly enthusiastic American accents. I'm all up for podcast listening, I love the conversational format but I'd prefer to hear from you and the authors as an interview.
Sorry, I hate this fake chat with its banter and umms. AI is so gross. I would happily hear from you no matter your accent.
