Utrecht, the fourth city of the Netherlands with the atmosphere of a small village. Lots of students, vibrant mood. I think this city is even better than Amsterdam. Way less tourists
I just went to Utrecht this weekend and shot some images with my Samsung mobile phone. Shared them via Notes this weekend.
I’ve been working in Utrecht for over 10 years and visited it often in my spare time. Did some street photography as well.
Years ago I also thought of doing a project of Utrecht. Here I’ll show some canal shots from the archive. Those are a bit more in high contrast and deep blacks. Still my favorite style in photography. I often get comments that my photos are too harsh in contrast and the blacks being too black, but those are my photos and this is how I like them to be.
Just looking at these photos, I think I should spend some more time in Utrecht and see if I can turn this into a small project.
That’s it for this newsletter.
Till next time,

It would be nice to see your project on Utrecht!
In 8 years of shooting (yes, I'm a baby), I've moved in and out of variations of styles. But My primary street subject matter of dark/distressed/depleted has not changed, much to the detriment of "likes", but that's how I see the world. I've give through differing styles, tones, b/w color, pov, but what andhow I see has not changed. Keep your blacks black if that's your vision.
