My last post was exactly two weeks ago and was focussed on my Substack anniversary. A year in which I published a weekly newsletter.

The last week I did not publish anything as we were facing sad family circumstances. My father passed away. I have been very busy organizing his funeral and one of the things we showed was a slideshow of old family photographs. Although my father was 87, there were lots of old photographs available, some of him as a toddler.

While flipping through those old photo albums, I suddenly realised the actual power and value of photos. We are taking more photos today than at any other time in history, but those photos are rarely, if ever, leaving the hard drive of our computer or our mobile phone.

As I held these physical photos in my hands, some even 85 years old, I felt the value contained in these images. A value that cannot be expressed in money. A wealth that even when the person in the photo is no longer there only increases.

I really think we are too litt…
