The coming of age of a photography project - Part II
Showing you the evolution in my long-term project
Last week I showed you the first results of my ongoing project ‘Riverlands’.
I’m planning to show you some more photos as I changed course during the project and still do not know where it will end.
Here´s the previous post in case you missed it:
Dark stays dark
The first photos where a bit dark, not only because of my preference for hard contrast and deep blacks, but also in the subjects within the frame. Those weren’t the best places to show. I started this project because I wanted to show the terrible job we were doing in the way we designed the landscape. We conquered the land over the water and look what we’re doing with the land.
The next set of photos are still dark, but the subjects are slightly lighter.
Btw, used this photo above also in the post ‘The Rule of Thirds is overrated’
Next time I’ll show just another angle, inspired by a post of
on Robert Adams´s sequencing.Like to hear your thoughts on this set of photos (in comparison to the first).
That’s it for this newsletter.
Till next time,

Great work, Marcel!
My #1 is 'ever-winding ditches'. The way the curves of water and pathway flow into one another.
