Go out and shoot / First Substack meetup

Last week I attended the first official Substack meetup in Amsterdam. It was organised by

Wesley Verhoeve

and

Deepa Paul

and took place in a small brown cafe. There were 16 of us and it was a lively evening with good conversations. It was nice to meet fellow Substackers in the wild and share experiences. Another meetup is already planned for November!

As I had to be in Amsterdam that evening, I thought it would be a great idea to do a photowalk in the afternoon. Usually I go out alone when doing street photography, but I was inspired by the photowalks Dennis Sewberath was doing with other street photographers. You may have heard Dennis' name on Darkrooms. I first interviewed him for Un/Taken episode 3, he is also featured in Darkrooms Magazine issue 1, and he is the founder and editor-in-chief of Dutch Street Magazine, a monthly online magazine where photographers share their street photography in the Netherlands.
