Love to see that. I have done 1 such book, though with only 25 pages. Used Blurb to publish it. 0 copies sold, but a venture of a lifetime. It's on my 5 days in hospital for pneumonia before COVID
I love seeing Paris through your eyes 10 years ago. Especially as I have recently finished editing images from my own trip there this past summer. I really enjoyed your take on some familiar and not-so-familiar sights.
I occasionally happen to see a bit of my older shots and some shots I think, “Ooo, that was nice” and others I shake my head and smile and think, “enh, pretty lame”. But I can see a bit of where I’ve grown and what seems fundamentally the same (usually the subject matter is quite familiar).
I look through my old work quite often. I find photos dropping off my "best" and "favorites" list all the time. But that's OK - this wouldn't be happening if I wasn't growing.
Loved seeing these, thank you for sharing. I was in Paris last week and it's interesting to see how it seems almost unchanged from your visit 10 years ago. Maybe more people in their best outfits doing portrait sessions today- But, you even caught a selfie back in what must have been the early days of selfies.
I'm glad I kept all the original, unprocessed pictures ( jpg's, later raw's). Almost all pictures I made for photography school, mostly studio work, i deleted. Now i have the confidence to delete all pictures that are subpar, whether they are old or new. Some i keep for sentimental reasons, but I sort those with the family and holiday pics, I don't keep them in my *portfolio*
Beautiful images, thank you for sharing.

That's good to hear, Mary. The selfie, haha. True.
Pretty darn good images from that ancient phone! Proof once again, it’s rarely about the gear.
Thanks Donn. And yes, it is not about the gear.

I mostly keep all my photos as storage is no longer a thing. Indonstar them so I can filter the good or interesting ones.
It was great to see your past work Marcel
Cheers, Shital
What a great post Marcel, love that you shared this for us to know the Marcel of the past!
Thanks Xavi, was a bit hesitant to show this old work, but it is what eventually helped me shape to what I am now, so I'm fine with it.
Glad you did!!
So fun to see the old stuff
For sure, Wesley. 'Met de billen bloot' haha
No place photographs quite like Paris. Lovely work, Marcel
Thanks Nat
