this image or this type of image is not for everybody. personally i like it very much: it shows intimacy without being intrusive, it shows a lot without going into details, it shows light by presenting lots of shadows, leaves a window open to interpretation and let the viewer mind to wonder. cruda, you got yourself a subscriber
I don't get it. I am a bit sensitive to gratuitous nudity, I guess, and since I don't understand the message of this image, it seems unnecessary. I'm not sure what's going on in the box over her head. I usually like dark, mysterious sorts of images, but this one doesn't tempt me to delve any further.
hey! thanks Marcel for having me here and also thanks to all the people interacting with my picture! is very interesting to read you!
Just to add some background information, i would like to share with you this picture context.
Since 2020, and after 15 years of mainly professional comercial work i started to put more energy, time and confidence in my personal work.
As a tool for introspection, self-knowledge and intimate work, self-portrait it has been a powerfull tool all my life. Since '20 i started a therapheutic process for healing some stuff and photography was one of my most powerfull medicines.
This pictures is part of one of the first series working on self-image, distortion and, at the same time, lots of emotions and things changing inside me.
The pictures doesnt want to explain anything, its just a record of this transition moment, of this vulnerable time exposing myself in front of the camera, realizing how unconfortable was to appear, uncovered. is not a nude, is just a reflexion of myself letting go all the superficial layer i had to put over me in the decades before.
This picture is part of my first photography publication "Conversaciones conmigo misma" (conversations with myself), you can check the video here :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMtK8kwRHH4
I agree with perfectlight. It's really, really interesting. There are times when I'm puzzled but not actually curious. This has me wondering, and extremely curious. I love it!
The photograph is saying "I want to be somewhere else" - It's shy, personal, doesn't give enough information (visually) but is still strong enough to convey it's message. It looks like a film photo to me - if it is then bonus points on capturing this image because film is more intimate to my thinking. Takes time to setup, time to develop.
Leaving a Spanish version; I see the photographer's blog is in Spanish : ) [translation courtesy Google Translate]
It’s eye catching and delightful to look at. Kind of quirk in a kind of Magritte-esques surreal way. The female anatomy is almost always pleasant, and the dark dingy light creates a certain mood that keeps you engaged.
But I don’t go away thinking about it necessarily. I’ve maybe seen too many photos of a similar vibe… but most like it’s subjective to where I am today. My energy, my mood, my thoughts and things bubbling in me isn’t in resonance with this image, right now.
If I were to right this on a completely different day/time, I will likely say completely different things.
I urge readers not take take much of what I (or anyone else, or even yourself) say too seriously. Certainly don’t *believe* anything I say.

It would be interesting to get a female perspective on this photo as it’s been male responses so far. For me though, the photo doesn’t resonate.
The point of view /story , is confusing to me. Not sure of what the artist wants me to know.

Sophomoric, unsophisticated, contrived.
