I am so pleased you saw the Killip show (and liked it!). Well done. The Dirk Braeckman photographs...? They are stunning. Did it say anything about what kind of prints they were..? They look like huge platinum prints, which is very unusual and difficult to do? I will go seek out the catalogue.
I like the mood on the beach. Was it anticlimactic to have the fires on the 30th instead of the 31st? Did people show up?
Thanks Søren, it was great. And the catalogue was sold out, so I hope you can still find one. Might post some photos of the book in a few weeks after I got my copy.
As for the bonfire, that was yesterday evening (Monday), I was on the beach on Sunday so I was not able to attend.
I have seen the Killip photo exhibition in the Hague as well. Beautiful prints and also some big prints. For me the photo of the shop window with the sign “ Home killed meat” was top. The series were impressive as a time document but very depressing. The late 70’s and early 80’s were much more prosperous in the Netherlands. What a poor country England is , now even more after their unfortunate Brexit. Is the UK except London on its way to become a third world country?
Haven't you seen Braeckman in Kunstmuseum? You would have liked it.
Outstanding tour of beautiful works!! I felt like I was visiting. Thank you! I learned some new names.
Got the ebook, Marcel. Love it!
Thanks Alex. Enjoy
Thanks for the introduction to Dirk Braeckman, I like what I see there. Big fan of Chris Killip. Happy new year Marcel.
Best wishes Tom. And go check Braeckman, it is worth it.
