As a photographer, I am always on the lookout for new ways to challenge myself and explore exciting new paths! Today, I'm thrilled to share with you a special new project that I'm currently excited about: a series focusing on nature. blending images and words.
This project is a breath of fresh air! It's a totally new approach for me, where the images lead and the concept follows. Nature now sets the pace and the moment! Autumn is racing by, and I'm racing to capture it! The golden yellow leaves, the misty mornings, the mushrooms, and the unique light that characterizes this season—these are all fleeting elements that I get to capture before they disappear!
What makes this project even more exciting is that I'm finally working with color again! As an avid black-and-white photographer, this is a significant step outside my comfort zone—and I'm excited to take it! The rich autumn tones are an exciting challenge for me to look at composition and contrast in a new way. It's so thrilling to look at the world through a colored lens again!
This reversal of my creative process—capture first, then conceptualize—is an exhilarating experiment that opens up a world of new possibilities! It forces me to look differently, decide faster, and rely more on intuition—and it's an incredible feeling! It's a fantastic lesson in letting go and letting the season guide me.
Blending images and words
You can follow the progress of this project via my separate newsletter, where I share my work (and insights) weekly. It's a blend of images and words. I'd love for you to take a look at Alphagraphy. Here you can not only follow the development of the project, but also see how this new approach to photography is unfolding.
Oh, you'll see those autumn photos in a later phase of the project!
Next week
Another update - Part VI already - on ‘the coming of age of a photography project’ as I am also still working on my project Riverlands.
So much to do, so little time…
