This week I am in Austin, Texas. I'm attending an conference and doing a keynote. Exciting stuff. I do have some spare time so hopefully can show you some photos next week, like this one…
Just for this one time only, I will highlight the main topics and some older posts as Darkrooms has gotten many new subscribers over the last weeks. Thank you for that. Let’s go!
DARKROOMS MAGAZINE
As many of you might know, I´m publishing a quarterly digital magazine, Darkrooms Magazine, filled with interesting photo projects and accompanied by an essay on the project and the process. Find the previo deus three issues here free to read or support my effort and…
You can also submit your projects for upcoming issues. I plan to publish a lot more specials on topics like Documentary, Street, Portrait, etc. Submitting can be done via this form.
RBNXPLRNG
Recently I launched a very exciting photo challenge, RBNXPLRNG, wich stands for ‘Urban Exploring’. It’s basicly shooting a five piece photo series of your (home)town.
The idea is simple. Start on a certain spot in your hometown. Somewhere between your first step and the first corner, you need to take a photo. This can be anything, like a building, a person, a view over the park. It’s all up to you. Then look at the schema and choose to walk to the left or right on the nearest corner. Take another photo and see what choices you now have to choose from.
When you get to the last corner, you now have taken 5 photos. This is your series which shows your city through your eyes.
All submitted series will be published in an upcoming Darkrooms Magazine special. The first entries are in and I believe this will be a very special issue
I’ve created a PDF for you to download and print so you know which choices lay ahead of you once you’ve made the first choice to go left or right.
THE DARK ROOMS OF…
I started this newsletter because I am curious about how other photographers work. Their process, their thoughts, their projects. That's why I like to interview photographers, to hear their stories, and so far I've interviewed eleven photographers from all over the world, including yours truly.
SOME OLDER POSTS
All posts of Darkrooms are free and they will stay free. If you have the means you can support me by becoming a paid subscriber for $4 a month. As a thank you, you can download all Darkrooms Magazines for free.
